With everything that’s been going on lately, we’ve all been spending a lot more time at home. An unexpected consequence of this is that many of us are looking for ways to make our homes more comfortable, more modern, and overall just a space that we are comfortable enjoying. If you’d like to make some changes to your home, I’ve compiled a list of ideas for upgrading your home that won’t cost a fortune. Keep reading to learn my top 3 ways to update your home:

1. New Flooring
Chances are that you don’t pay a ton of attention to your flooring, but it can do a lot to set the mood and tone for your home. New flooring can add some personality and can help make it easier to maintain the cleanliness of your home, which can make a world of difference. If you want to add a touch of luxury to your home, Parquet Flooring can be a great way to do that. Parquet flooring are tiles made up of individual wood blocks arranged in patterns such as herringbone and chevron, which ensures that your flooring has a lot of warmth and dimension. Changing your flooring to a parquet flooring is a wonderful way to completely transform areas of your home.

2. Update Your Sofa
What’s the center of your home? Chances are it’s either the kitchen, or your living area. If your sofa is looking a bit sad, then one great way to update your home is to purchase a new sofa. It can be quite a considerable investment, so if you’re wanting a change without breaking the bank, you can look on local second hand websites to find a gently used sofa that someone doesn’t want anymore, that can add new life to your home. If you don’t have the funds to buy a new sofa, a cheap, quick way to update your current couch is to buy some new cushions or covers to brighten up the space.

3. Fresh Coat of Paint

Adding a feature wall to a living space can be a great way to modernize your home and to add some personality. There are a few places that I find to be great places to add a coat of paint, for example the wall behind your bed. Adding a pop of colour here can work as a make-shift bed frame, adding a lot of style to your room without the cost of buying new furniture. Another great place in your home for a feature wall is the wall behind where your TV sits. Adding a darker color paint color can help your TV blend into the wall, meaning that it’s less of a distraction for when you’re in your living space but not watching TV.

We’re probably going to be spending a bit more time at home for the foreseeable future, so why not invest a little time and money to ensure it’s as comfortable as possible. Hopefully these tips help you update your home while still staying on budget.
